“…They talked about how he turned down hundreds of beats from producers rappers at that time dreamed of working with, but this man had a vision for the classic album and was relentless to get what he wanted. I think it’s safe to say that Illmatic lived up to his expectation probably to the level of becoming a curse because although I am a life long Nas fan nothing else came close to this album. Anyway here is a gem for you Nas pre CD era fans out there. It’s the EPK for the aforementioned project….enjoy.

Just over a month since undergoing surgery following a heart attack, Gang Starr MC Guru (born Keith Elam) has died at age 43. According to a statement, Guru died of cancer-related causes on Monday after a long fight with the disease.
