It’s the new year and top 20 ________ of 2008 lists are abound. My favorite lists so far are from ThisIsHipHop in the form of most slept on albums and the top 20 verses of 2008. The way these dudes laid it out was real cool; instead of writing out the lyrics, they straight up posted the audio clips. Some of them will be controversial and will be interesting to compare with a list we posted previously titled the Three Most Memorable Verses of 2008.
One of my personal favorites has to be: “I father, I Brooklyn Dodger them, I jack, I rob, I sin/ ah man/ I’m Jackie Robinson except when I run base, I dodge the pen.” – Jay-Z
