True hip-hop stories: “Let tears shed”

Interview by D-Nice.  I am having trouble grasping the right words to “simplify” this video.  It is more than a perspective or an interview.  It is also more than social commentary.  On many levels, it is more truthful than interviews with most artists.  If no one paid attention to you, if you were ignored by 70% of the people you said, “excuse me” to, if you had nothing, would you still be an artist at heart?

“Hip hop is what I feel.  It’s what I do.  It’s who I am.”

Just over a month since undergoing surgery following a heart attack, Gang Starr MC Guru (born Keith Elam) has died at age 43. According to a statement, Guru died of cancer-related causes on Monday after a long fight with the disease.
