Jay-Z: first ever recorded song (age 16)

There have been an abundance of Jay-Z posts all over the internets as of late but that is not surprising.  The largest hip-hop act, and probably one of the largest musicians period, dropped a dope album on Tuesday and has been running the press circuit from Oprah to Hot97.  I’ll be attending a private party at the 40/40 club tonight hosted by Mr. Carter himself and will follow that up with the concert at Madison Square Garden (this Friday) on 9/11.

With that said, I will leave you with this great find by the good people at KevinNottingham.  Jay’s first appearance on wax at the young age of 16.  The track is called “H.P. Get Busy” and features Jay-Z and Jaz-O with a dude named High Potent; produced by Jack Walker.  Also, for the Jigga fans out there, check out KNott’s 11 days of Jigga going on right now.  Kevin and his crew have done an amazing job on digging up bits and pieces of Jay’s history; and the best part is, they keep it about the music.
